A very good condition all-leather Pickelhaube for an NCO of Hesse Regiment 115. The leather skull remains in solid condition; with only minor surface loss to the area above the national cockade and some light creasing to the rear. Both front and rear peaks are firmly attached to the body.
Fitted with all correct white metal fittings, including the fluted Hessian spike and large Hesse front plate featuring the ‘1621’ scroll. Both national and Hessian cockades are present, along with a full set of white metal flat tin chin scales.
The interior is fitted with a mid-tan leather officer-quality liner, complete and showing signs of service wear. The inner silk liner remains intact. One of the interior securing pins for the 1621 scroll is missing but does not affect display.
An original paper name label is affixed inside the skull, with a similar name hand-applied to the interior rear peak—adding a personal element to this fine example of a Hessian NCO’s service helmet.
