GERMAN WWI HESSE FIELD ART RGT 27 NCO PICKLEHAUBE CASED

A very nice condition medium size all leather Pickelhaube for an NCO in Hesse field artillery regiment number 27. Some minor congealing to the skull on the rear right-hand side, both peaks securely attached to the main body, all the brass fittings match in colour, one minor indentation to the ball top, the helmet is fitted with both its national cockade in standard form and its slightly larger non-serrated-edged Hesse cockade. One securing domed head rivet is missing from the right-hand peak trim. The 11-tongued leather NCOs liner is in excellent condition. The helmet is complete with its correct number 27 numbered helmet cover with felt numbers, to the inside of the cover is the red manoeuvre band, both helmet and cover, with its original carrying box.
