German WWI Hesse Field Artillery Regiment 27 NCO Pickelhaube, Cased

A very fine medium-size all-leather Pickelhaube for an NCO of Hesse Field Artillery Regiment No. 27, complete with its original cover and carrying case. The skull shows only minor congealing to the rear right side, with both front and rear peaks firmly attached. All brass fittings match well in tone, with just one small indentation to the ball top. Fitted with both its standard national cockade and the slightly larger, non-serrated edged Hesse cockade. One domed rivet is absent from the right-hand peak trim. The 11-tongued leather NCO liner remains in excellent condition. Accompanied by its correct regimentally-marked cover, displaying the large felt ‘27’ numerals with red manoeuvre band to the interior, and housed in its original carrying box.
