German WWI Hesse 23rd & 24th Dragoons Enlisted NCO Parade Pickelhaube

A rare example of the all-leather Pickelhaube worn by an enlisted NCO of the 23rd or 24th Hessian Dragoon Regiments—both noted for using all white metal fittings. The leather skull remains strong with minor crazing, and a small area of surface loss is visible to the left of the Hessian front plate. One white metal dome from the cruciform spike base is absent. Fitted with the correct non-serrated Hessian State cockade and serrated national cockade. The domed chin scales are also correct for this pattern.

The interior retains its well-used officer-quality leather sweatband and remnants of the original inner silk lining. This example appears to be an earlier model, likely from around 1900.
