German WWI Gewehr 71/84 Display Piece

A very nice example of a Model 71/84 German display piece, dated 1888. The woodwork is excellent, showing only minor bruising and retaining a good deep colour, with clear Imperial acceptance marks to the stock.

All metal components retain a deep blued finish, with only slight areas of light surface spotting. The piece is extensively marked throughout, including crown over Spandau markings. Numbered 4334, with the bolt numbered 5533, and dated 1888. An attractive and historically interesting early German service display piece.
