GERMAN WWI GEW98 TRENCH MOUNT

A ground dug remains of the very rare GEW98 periscope mount. The main body of the mount is in excellent order with surface corrosion on one side and a slightly deeper corrosion on the other side, where laying in the ground. The closure fitting for holding the Rifle butt in place is still working. Slight corrosion to the upper part, otherwise very restorable and displayable. With the mount came a horseshoe section of steel; whether this has any connection to the periscope mount is open to discussion, but it was found with the mount.
