German WWI Gew98 Sniper Sight, Cased

A scarce and highly desirable World War I sniper sight for the Gewehr 98, manufactured by Emil Busch of Rathenow. The sight is crisply marked ‘VISAR 4½ DRGM’, with the rifle number ‘6284’ stamped below the adjustment wheel. It retains traces of its original blued finish, with light rust spotting and areas of thinning consistent with age and period service use. The optics remain excellent, and both double claw fixing points are present, complete, and intact. Supplied with its original brown leather carrying case, unmarked, with a shortened shoulder strap.
