German WWI Ersatz Display Piece with Frog

A very fine First World War ersatz pattern display piece, retaining around 80% of its original field grey-green finish to both the hilt and scabbard. It remains complete with its original leather frog, which has aged beautifully while retaining strength and form. The surface is excellent—unsharpened, unreprofiled—and bears a clear Imperial German acceptance stamp along the flat back edge.

A particularly well-preserved and appealing example of this transitional wartime production piece.
