German WWI Ersatz Display Piece

A well-preserved First World War all-steel Ersatz example, modelled after the 98/05 pattern. The surface shows light age toning but retains excellent overall form and definition. The imitation wood grip, crafted in steel, retains traces of its original field grey-green finish within the recessed rib sections.

Its steel scabbard remains in good condition with only minor indentations near the base and visible remnants of the original black finish. Complete with its original leather frog, which remains supple and in excellent condition — a rare survivor in this state.
