German WWI Enlisted Ranks Pickelhaube Cover

A very good condition pickelhaube cover, showing faint green stencilled number ‘11’ to the front. The outline of previously stitched numbers ‘62’ is still visible when turned inside out, indicating it was altered and re-stencilled. All five helmet fitting hooks are present. Stitching to the left of the number suggests the original owner adjusted the cover slightly for a snugger fit. Tested on helmets in stock, it would comfortably fit sizes 54 to 56.
