German WWI Display Piece with Paper Cloth Belt Loop

A well-preserved World War I example in very good condition. The steel fittings remain sound with only light ageing near the cross guard and faint signs of past use. The ribbed wooden grips are undamaged, displaying excellent colour and finish. Housed in its original scabbard, which retains faint traces of its wartime black paint. The piece is fitted with a rare and desirable paper cloth belt loop, complete with its original leather retaining strap and fully functional male/female closure stud. A scarce and appealing period example.
