The crank handled fighting knife, 15cm polished blade with Duisburg makers stamp on one side and ‘DRGM’ patent stamp on the opposite side. The flat back edge with the Imperial armed forces acceptance stamp. The blade has slight chipping towards the point. Only faint traces on one side of the crank handle of the green paint finish, the other side missing. Fitted into its original scabbard, which has lost most of its black painted finish, with the loop section only of the hanging strap present. The Demag fighting knife/bayonet is seen in many pictures of German assault troops/stormtroopers getting ready for action with the crank handle Demag fitted to the end of their KAR 98 carbines.
