GERMAN WWI DEER’S FOOT FIGHTING DISPLAY PIECE

A knife, much seen in photographs being worn by German troops in the trenches, is the deer’s foot knife. Excellent blade with unusual double-headed eagle trademark, S-shaped steel cross guard, original leather washer complete, in its steel military-style scabbard and belt loop. Hilt retaining strap does not appear ever to have been fitted. The steel scabbard has some paint loss.
