A very fine and visually striking German WWI-era display piece, based on the Mauser 71/84 pattern and attributed to Colonial or See-Bataillon use. One side features a beautifully etched panel with a Colonial-style crown and ribbon above an Imperial eagle. The reverse bears a matching panel with gothic-style initials—possibly "F" or "K"—which may denote the original owner.
The plating on the pommel, back strap, and muzzle ring has thinned in places from age, adding character to the piece. The wooden grips remain in good condition, showing only light discolouration. Housed in its original leather scabbard with correct nickel-mounted fittings, which match the display piece nicely. An excellent collector’s example with strong Imperial-era presentation and detail, ideal for historical display.
