A fine example of the Mauser 71/84 pattern display piece, retaining an excellent bright surface. One side features a panel with a Colonial-style crown and ribbon surmounted by the Imperial eagle, while the reverse displays a matching panel engraved with two Gothic letters — possibly “F” or “K” — which may represent the initials of the original owner.
The plating to the pommel, back strap, and muzzle ring shows areas of light thinning, while the wooden grips remain well preserved with only slight discolouration. Housed in its original leather scabbard, complete with nickel mounts that match the fittings of the piece itself.
