A very nice condition example with an all-leather skull, likely size 54 or 55. Both front and rear peaks are firmly attached, with the rear peak made from a slightly softer leather than typically encountered. The front peak trim has a single split at the centre. All brass fittings—including the spike, spike base, and front plate—are well-matched in colour.
The interior features an eight-tongued black leather liner in good condition, complete with its original drawstring. A faint owner’s name is hand-applied inside the skull, along with traces of a maker stamp marked "Alexander." Fitted with the correct chinstrap buckles and both national and Bavarian state cockades. The inner rear peak is clearly stamped “23.J.R.” with the same owner’s name hand-applied nearby.
A fine example of an enlisted ranks Bavarian Pickelhaube.
