German WWI Bavarian Military Police Helmet

A very fine condition all-black leather helmet, size ‘55½’ stamped to the skull. The leather shows only light crazing to the front and rear peaks. Fitted with all silver mounts, including the Bavarian front plate, chinstrap, and both national and state cockades.

The interior 9-tongued liner retains much of its original mid-tan colour and is complete with a shoelace-style drawstring.
