GERMAN WWI BAVARIAN CHEVAULEGER FROM THE MICHAEL BALDWIN COLLECTION

Pictured on pages 22 and 23 of Feldzug 1916, this very helmet is in the same condition as when it was picked up from a battlefield during WWI. Large-size skull. Large-size all-leather body, which is in excellent condition. Both front and rear peaks firmly attached to the main body, with some congealing to the rear peak. All of the chemically patinated field grey fittings retain all their finish. Complete with an enlisted ranks national and Bavarian State cockade. The front strap has one quarter section missing, identical to the image in the book. Maker stamped ‘Hans Romer 1915 Neu-Ulm’. All of the tongues to the liner system are complete, with the tips of three tongues broken.
