A fine example of a Baden field artillery officer’s pickelhaube, featuring an all-leather skull with overall crazing consistent with age. The fittings retain a subdued gilt finish, with correct domed chin scales specific to field artillery regiments. Fitted with the multi-piece national cockade and a one-piece, non-serrated edge Baden field cockade.
The interior leather liner is intact, showing expected service wear; while not size-stamped, testing suggests approximately size 56. As Baden only maintained field artillery regiments, this is a specialized and rare pattern.
The helmet comes with its original carrying case, though both closing straps are missing.
