An excellent album containing 48 original images documenting the daily life of a World War I aviation station. Fourteen images feature aircraft — including at least four impressive air-to-air shots — alongside scenes of planes lined up on landing fields and outside pilots’ or engineers’ tents. The collection also captures dramatic crash scenes, with one photograph showing a burning aircraft moments after impact. Additional images depict pilots in their mess, studying maps, and discussing tactics, as well as a group of high-ranking aviation officers gathered around a motorcar. The album concludes with evocative shots of war-damaged French buildings, offering a fascinating glimpse into early military aviation.
