German WWI Armoured Front Plate for M16 Helmet

An excellent example of the armoured brow plate designed for use with the M16 steel helmet. This original front plate retains all of its wartime paint finish and shows a strong, heavy construction—producing the distinct bell-like ring associated with authentic pieces.

A leather strap is fitted, likely a period-style replacement. No maker’s marks are present, which is typical for many original examples.

A solid and well-preserved piece of early combat armour.
