German Russian Front Sheepskin and Woollen Waistcoat Pullover

A classic example of the many improvised and specially produced Eastern Front cold-weather garments issued to German troops unprepared for the harsh conditions of the Russian winter. This variant features a white sheepskin body with the fleece to the interior, all original white buttons remaining in place.
The sleeves are adapted from slate-grey army pullovers and have been factory or depot attached to the sheepskin body. One moth hole is present on the right sleeve, with a few small nicks to the left, otherwise the garment remains in solid, appealing condition. An excellent and characterful piece, ideal for an Eastern Front display.
