A good leather skull with minor creasing to the skull, both peaks firmly attached to the main body of the helmet. Good gilt overall. Cut out the crown with the reserve officers' cross to the breast of the eagle on the front plate. Infantry-style flat chin scales. Officer quality national and Prussian State cockades. To the interior, an officer's quality leather liner with upper scalloped edges showing considerable wear and use, with its inner silk lining. A pencilled size of ’56 ½ ‘. Faint traces of an original owner’s name were applied to the leather sweatband. Complete with its officers' field cover, which is marked ‘D.R.P.’ on the interior of the rear peak cover.
