German Croat WWII Croatian Knights Cross with Swords of the Order of King Zvonimir 1st Class

This medal represents the Croatian equivalent of the German Knights Cross to the Iron Cross, widely awarded to Waffen SS officers engaged in combat against Communist Partisans in Yugoslavia during WWII.

The decoration is of excellent quality, featuring gold-plated edges with a white enamel centre. It comes with a long length of the original neck ribbon, although the ribbon mount is a period replacement made to facilitate wearing around the neck. The ribbon shows slight wear consistent with age.
