French WWI Adrian Infantry Helmet

A very nice, large size example of an original French Adrian steel helmet from the First World War. It retains a good degree of its original dark horizon blue paint finish, which shows some slight rust bleed and has one minor dent to the crown, consistent with age and field use.

The helmet is complete with its distinctive flaming grenade 'RF' (République Française) badge affixed to the front. The original chinstrap is present.

Internally, the original leather liner is complete, including all its aluminium spacers. One of the liner tongues is detached from the main body of the sweatband but remains securely attached to the drawstring. The initials 'LG' have been hand-applied to the interior dome. A small pin hole is present in the rear brim, indicating where it was once mounted for a wall display.
