French Pre WWI Officers Full Dress Epaulettes

A magnificent set presented in their original wood and paperboard shaped box, this includes full dress epaulettes crafted in superb quality flamed gilt bullion with slight toning, set on black velvet underlay in excellent condition. The helmet gold bullion pompom, also gilt, is designed for a kepi, accompanied by the insignia that attaches to the standard kepi for full dress wear. This includes a flamed gilt bullion grenade topped with a rosette, all mounted on their special rear panel.

Completing the set is the sword knot, which remains mint with slight toning to the bullion. Original tissue paper lines the base of the box. These items would have been carried and worn by the officer for walking out and ceremonial occasions, likely dating from the early period of the Great War.
