English 1796 Blue and Gilt Bladed Officers Display Piece

A superb late 18th-century officer’s example featuring an 83.5 cm blade exquisitely decorated on the upper half with blued and gilt scrollwork and stands of arms. The blueing remains vibrant, with only light fading near the standard 1796 steel hilt. The grip is fully intact and well preserved.

It is fitted into its correct scabbard, which retains both hanging rings and shows only a single, shallow indentation below the second ring. A fine and elegant Georgian-period display piece with beautiful blue and gilt detailing throughout.
