An extremely well executed head and upper bust image of Winston Churchill executed in oil on canvas, framed, he is wearing the visor cap and lightweight overcoat that he wore in the many images of him on the crossing of the Rhine in March 1945. Prime Minister Winston Churchill was ferried across the Rhine in an amphibious tracked vehicle from C Squadron 11th Royal Tank Regiment. The cap badge he is wearing on his cap is of the 4th/5th (Cinque Ports) Battalion of the Royal Sussex Regiment, of which he was Honorary Colonel. The painting measures 39cm x 57cm, and the frame measures 57cm x 74cm. The painting is signed in the lower right-hand corner, but by an unknown artist. A tremendous representation of Winston Churchill in one of his most famous poses.
