BRITISH WWII ROYAL NAVAL CAPTAIN AND ABOVE BLUE TOP CAP

A very nice condition, approximately size 56 Royal Naval Captain and Above visor cap. Beautiful Melton cloth construction, no moth, standard mohair centre band with the large and impressive multi constructed gold bullion with red velvet and metallic anchor Royal Naval officers' badge. Standard narrow patent leather chinstrap. The peak has the full row of bullion lace for the rank of Captain and Above. To the i,nterior the sweatband is all intact, the stitching to the forehead area is loose. Fully maker marked inside of the premier maker ‘Gieves Limited, London’ with a further gilt blocked ‘Gieves’ logo to the centre of the crown. There is a name applied to the cap but unfortunately, it is indecipherable.
