BRITISH WWII PARATROOPER HELMET

An early paratrooper helmet known by collectors as the 'Fibre Rim'. Marked BMB 1942, size 6 7/8. The helmet is in mint used condition; the riveted leather chin strap is supple, as is the orange sorbo rubber in the liner. The light coloured leather sweatband is clean, and the paint finish upon the exterior of the helmet matches the inside overall, with an original scrim cover in place. The chinstrap fixing bolts retain the red paint as shown, a tell-tale sign of an untouched example. British paratrooper items are rapidly catching up in value with their German equivalent, and this is the best example we have seen in recent years.
