A very nice condition 1854 pattern sword belonging to 2nd Lieutenant David Bernard Morgan. Excellent 83 cm blade with insignia of the Welsh Guards surmounted by the George 5th crown, sword number 13798, retailed by Cater and Company of Pall Mall, London, blade, having the initials D.B.M. regulation 1854 pattern Welsh Guards hilt, Ray skin complete, nickel scabbard with both hanging rings present. David Bernard Morgan was commissioned on the 29th of May 1918. Bernard Morgan was a member of the Morgan family from Cardiff that owned and ran a large department store in Cardiff. He was born in 1899 and died in 1955.
