This is a very fine example of the standard leather holster designed for the iconic Webley Mark 6 service revolver. The leather is in very nice condition, retaining a good colour and suppleness throughout.
Uniquely, this holster features a fixed shoulder strap, which has been fitted with leather loops designed to hold six extra rounds of ammunition. The configuration of a shoulder strap over a standard belt mount is often associated with the Royal Flying Corps, where ease of access was required while seated in a cramped cockpit. The reverse of the holster is fitted with a standard belt loop, and the side features a dedicated pocket for a cleaning rod.
The cleaning rod itself is present and is clearly marked with the initials E.N.F.T. This is a complete and evocative piece of British Great War equipment, perfect for a high-quality field gear or aviation display.
