A very atmospheric and well service used and patinated Wolsey helmet from the First World War. The exterior of the cork helmet is covered in six panels to the rim and six to the crown, with its air vent and its original chinstrap. Attached to the nice and thickly wrapped pagri is the rectangular unit patch of the Suffolk Regiment. The interior of the rimmed green lined, the interior of the bowl canvas lined, the original wearer has hand applied the name of at least twelve Indian cities and towns where he has served, also the WWI style numbering style of ‘SA 6368’. The sweatband is all complete, soft and supple. Some light rot to the cotton green lining of the interior rim.
