BRITISH WWI ROYAL NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS OFFICERS TRENCH CAP

A very rare cap being the Gor Blimey style cap for officers with the pull down side curtains, constructed in Gabardine material, very similar to the tropical lightweight tunics produced by tailors during the First World War. Complete with its correct chinstrap, leather football side strap buttons, Royal Northumberland Fusilier officers' bronze badge fitted, with its sweatband in leather stitched in a half moon pattern just inside the forehead area. The remainder of the interior liner is in lightweight linen with the typical lozenge style stitching of the period.
