British WWI Royal Northumberland Fusiliers Officer’s Trench Cap

A very rare Gor Blimey style officer’s trench cap with pull-down side curtains, constructed in lightweight gabardine similar to tropical tunics produced by First World War tailors. Fitted with the correct chinstrap, leather football-style side strap buttons, and a Royal Northumberland Fusiliers officer’s bronze badge. The leather sweatband is stitched in a half-moon pattern along the forehead, with the remainder of the interior liner in lightweight linen featuring the typical lozenge-style stitching of the period.
