BRITISH WWI ROYAL NAVY PETTY OFFICERS VISOR CAP IN ITS ORIGINAL TIN WITH INSIGNIA

A very nice condition, large size, all dark blue bodied naval petty officers visor cap. No moth damage. Mohair centre band. Petty officers beautifully constructed bullion wire, red velvet, and a metallic badge. Typical narrow black thin chinstrap with cloth-covered side buttons. To the interior, the inner crown is in the circular multi-stitching of that period. The leather sweatband with wear use obvious. The cap is complete with its removable white top. Also in the tin is the original petty officer's very high-quality bullion wire arm badge, his set of WWI medal ribbons, a further bullion wire crown and a set of Royal Naval uniform buttons, possibly from his tunic, all contained in the original tin with the label ‘ARG Gordon’ applied to the tin itself. A very nice set.
