British WWI Royal Naval White Top Visor Cap

A very nice white top naval visor cap with a blue body and removable ribbed white top. The cap shows minor rust staining and slight discoloration but is overall in excellent condition. Fitted with a Chief Petty Officer red-on-black crown-over-anchor badge and a standard WWI period small chinstrap. Officer quality, with a white leather sweatband featuring the owner’s initials to the interior. The upper inner crown silk is worn but reveals fine circular stitching. Notably, newspaper was originally used as padding between the exterior blue and interior silk. Royal Naval caps from WWI are scarce. Approximate size 56–57.
