British WWI Rimless Brodie Helmet with Cover

A rare first pattern rimless Brodie helmet, non-magnetic, with the original two-tone paint noticeably faded. The interior shows some surface rust seeping through the cover. On one side, a lozenge-shaped area indicates where a unit insignia was once applied, though the stitching has deteriorated and is now missing. The interior sacking cup retains much of its original colour, despite some fading. Fitted with a six-tongued first pattern oilskin liner with its original felt inserts, and complete with the original chinstrap, which should be handled with care. An uncommon and desirable example.
