BRITISH WWI RFC LIEUTENANT’S MATERNITY TUNIC

A fabulous condition RFC Lieutenant’s maternity-style tunic. Large size. Complete with original RFC wings, slightly frayed to the right-hand wing tips. Cloth rank pips to the shoulder boards, which have been sewn down and are not button-down. The tunic is in overall excellent condition, with a slight nick to the cloth in the right-hand elbow area, otherwise excellent. To the upper back, there is an 8cm repaired slit to the material, which corresponds to damage to the inner lining in the same place, which may be evidence of a back wound; however, there are no blood stains to the inner lining. We may never know the reason for the slit in the material; otherwise, the tunic is absolutely fabulous. All buttons present. A metal hook with a sewn eye at the base of the tunic to hold the lower part of the tunic together. This tunic would display very well.
