A very nice pair of portraits of the same officer, each held in nicely tooled Morocco leather cases. The first portrait shows the officer in a typical maternity jacket with embroidered pips on each epaulette and wearing the Sam Browne belt. The top of the frame has a nice, small bronze RFC wing very neatly tacked upon it; this wing is the small type that can be seen used for sweetheart brooches. The second image is in a similar frame with the same officer, this time wearing the Royal Flying Corps overseas cap. There is an ink date of ‘1917’ as well as a Bath photographer's address. The reverse cover portion of the frame has unfortunately broken away, but is still complete with the pictures and could be gently repaired. This is clearly a travelling type portrait.
