British WWI Hood Tube Gas Helmet with Bag and Instructions

An exceptionally rare World War I artefact, comprising the hood/tube gas helmet in its original carrying bag, along with the printed instructions. The hood is constructed of blue shirt material, showing age with various rust stains. Both glass lenses are intact, though the rubber valve has hardened and broken. There is some evidence of rodent damage to the upper rear of the hood. The set includes the original instruction sheet detailing the use and care of the tube helmet.

The accompanying outer carrying bag, complete with shoulder strap, is in much better condition than the hood itself. The design of the set is such that the hood initially fits into a smaller inner bag before being placed in the larger outer bag. It appears that these four elements may have been collected at different times, but together they form a complete and highly desirable WWI gas hood grouping.
