An excellent example of the rare 1902 pattern service trousers worn by British enlisted ranks during World War I. Of all uniform items from the combatant nations, original trousers and boots are among the hardest to find, as they were often reused by returning soldiers for work after the war.
This pair remains in very good condition, with only minor moth activity—small areas of loss near both pocket apertures, one small hole on the upper thigh, and two on the lower seat area. The cloth retains its full original nap and texture throughout. Constructed with the standard double stitching at the base of each side pocket and fitted with zinc buttons. The interior shows light wear and use staining to the cream cotton lining.
Unmarked, as is typical, with a waist size of approximately 30 to 32 inches. A very fine and increasingly scarce example of genuine WWI British service trousers.
