British WWI Enlisted Man’s Trench Cap

A good example of a British enlisted man’s trench cap, upper medium in size, fitted with the cap badge of the Royal Sussex Regiment. The correct narrow leather chinstrap is in place, secured by general service side buttons.

The cap is free from moth damage, though the nap to the cloth is generally thinned from service wear. The oilskin upper lining remains present but has become thin in areas with age. A solid example of a classic Great War trench cap.
