British WWI Brodie Helmet

A good example of a standard 2nd pattern Brodie helmet. The shell remains in solid condition, featuring an unusual green paint applied over the original sand-based khaki finish. Paint losses are evident, as shown in our web images, though it is unclear whether this colour variation was intended as camouflage or a specific unit marking. The helmet retains its original fabric liner and leather chinstrap, though the inner horsehair padding is missing. Faint traces of an owner’s name or possible unit designation can be seen on the inner flap skirt.
