BRITISH/CZECH WWII PHOTOGRAH ALBUM

A small format album measuring 23 x 15 cm containing 32 mainly very good shots of a squadron. Close-ups of Spitfires, mainly being the later model with clipped wings. Good close-ups of officers of the Squadron and Flight Sergeants, both in service dress and wearing flight gear. A funeral of a Czech aviator. Czechoslovakia shoulder titles on officers' uniforms. Sergeant pilots with their pet dog. All the photographs are annotated, and the officers and men in the photographs are mainly identified. One excellent shot of the front end of a Spitfire with annotation ‘MY SPIT AND MECHANIC JULY 43’. An 11th June 1943 photograph with the annotation ‘ANNIVERSARY OF 313 CZECH FIGHTER SQUADRONS’. A further shot of Czech aviators wearing their Mae Wests with the annotation ‘TWO OF MY BEST PILOTS’, both named. Squadron Station life shots. Vehicles belonging to the Squadron. A wonderful shot of an officer wearing his Czech Pilots Badge and RAF wings. Squadron pets. A shot of a different officer wearing his Czech Pilot's Badge, Czech Medal Ribbons, RAF wings, and Czech shoulder titles. Aviators at the ready on their planes. An excellent shot of a Free French aviator wearing his Czech pilots wings and French pilots wings in a hospital in 1940. Accompanying the album are 7 postcard size photographs, 2 further smaller format photographs which see to indicate Czech pilots after WWII within Czechoslovakia. A very interesting album from a rare unit.
