Belgium WWI Bronze Standing Soldier

Measuring 59 cm in height, this exceptional bronze figure depicts a Belgian soldier of World War I in full combat uniform and equipment. He stands on an integral bronze base marked “1914” in raised relief at the front, with “Depose” on the reverse—a term used in Belgium to protect designs rather than indicating the sculptor. The soldier wears a classic Belgian shako, backpack, canteen, rifle, and pouches, with bayonet fitted to his belt. Superb quality and highly detailed bronze work from the World War I period.
