Austrian WWI Berndorfer Armoured Front Plate

An extremely rare example of an Austrian armoured front plate, produced by the Berndorfer company in response to the introduction of the front plate for the German M.16 helmet. This piece retains a good degree of the original Austrian brown paint, with areas of rust bleed and surface corrosion adding to its authentic aged character. Complete with all original Austrian-style strapping and fitting clips for attachment to a Berndorfer helmet. A highly desirable and scarce accessory from the First World War.
