AUSTRIAN WWI AMMUNITON POUCH AND BELT SET

A rare and excellent condition matched pair of pouches and waist belt for the Austrian infantryman of WWI. Good matching colour overall. One of the pouches is marked ‘Wein 15’ inside the lid. Good pebbled leather to the closing flaps of all four pouches. Stitching is strong overall. A scarce set. The pouches were used for carrying the ammunition for the model 1895 Mannlicher rifle. The waist belt also has regimental markings and the first half of the date, of which ‘19’ is visible, the last two letters are not visible.
