AMERICAN WWII UNITED STATES ARMY AIR FORCE MADE UPPER JACKET WITH ENGLISH MADE TROUSERS

All of the American uniforms for officers in WWII were of the most superb quality, and this is a Standard chocolate colour, blouse-type tunic with two upper pockets with flaps, open collar style. Even the buttons that secure the shoulder boards to the tunic are covered in the same chocolate brown Gaberdine material. A full complement of insignia, Major's oak leaves to the epaulettes. ‘U.S.’ over wing propeller badges to the lower collar. Pilot's wings, held to the tunic by American-style clutches. Medal ribbon bar of three medals. Air Force patch on the left-hand shoulder. To the interior of the tunic pocket, there is a manufacturer's label, accompanied by the British-made trousers of a slightly different shade of chocolate brown than the jacket, with its integral fitted belt having a manufacturer's label of ‘Brown & Haigh, England’. Both portions of the uniform are completely free of any moth damage, repairs or staining.
