Allied WWI Roold Flying Helmet

A good example of the classic Roold flying helmet as worn by British, French, and Belgian aviators during the First World War. Constructed on an all-cork body with a canvas exterior, the helmet features the standard four-panel crown design with an imitation centre band, showing some light losses to the reverse. Fitted with its original brown-painted canvas ear protectors.

The interior retains its multi-stitched quilted crown lining and ersatz-style sweatband, both in good condition. Complete with its original, rather crude chinstrap. A solid example of this iconic Great War aviation helmet.
