A superb and rare matching set of three porcelain pieces from the iconic airship LZ127 Graf Zeppelin. All items were produced by Heinrich & Company of Bavaria, each bearing their maker’s logo to the base along with the light brown Graf Zeppelin 1928 marking.
The set includes a teacup, saucer, and tea plate—all gilt-edged and decorated with elegant gilt and blue detailing. Both the tea plate and teacup are further marked with the LZ monogram within an oval. Each piece is in perfect, undamaged condition.
The Graf Zeppelin made its first flight on 18th September 1928 and was outfitted to an exceptional standard for transatlantic travel. It served for nearly nine years before being withdrawn from service in 1937 following the Hindenburg disaster, and was ultimately scrapped in 1940. Fortunately, examples of its fine porcelain survived—this set representing a particularly well-preserved and desirable trio for collectors of aviation history and early 20th-century luxury travel.
